1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the EdgeBot website, applications, chat, library, quizzes and related services (the "Service") provided by Edge Healthtech. By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the EdgeBot Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who May Use EdgeBot

EdgeBot may be intended for young people as well as adults, but the final minimum age has not yet been set. Users must be legally able to agree to these Terms. Where applicable law requires a parent or legal guardian to authorise a child's use or the processing of a child's information, that authorisation must be obtained.

Edge Healthtech may introduce age-assurance, guardian-authorisation or account restrictions to comply with law and protect users.

3. What EdgeBot Provides

EdgeBot provides general educational information about health, the body, feelings, relationships, hygiene, wellbeing and growing up. Features may include AI-assisted chat, articles, videos, quizzes, saved resources, reminders and user progress.

4. Not Medical Advice or Emergency Support

EdgeBot does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, legal advice, professional counselling or emergency assistance. AI-generated information may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for a particular person. Do not delay or ignore professional help because of an EdgeBot response.

For urgent health or safety concerns, contact a trusted adult, qualified healthcare professional or the appropriate local emergency service.

5. Accounts and Security

• Provide accurate information and keep account details reasonably current.
• Keep your secret keyword, verification code and login access confidential.
• Do not share an account or allow another person to pretend to be you.
• Notify support@edgehealthtech.org promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by Edge Healthtech's failure to use reasonable security.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not use EdgeBot to:

• Break the law, violate another person's rights or encourage harmful or unlawful conduct.
• Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate or expose another person.
• Upload malware, attack the Service, bypass security or access accounts or systems without permission.
• Collect, publish or misuse another person's personal or sensitive information.
• Send spam, misleading promotions or automated requests that disrupt the Service.
• Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the Service except where the law expressly permits.
• Submit content that you do not have the right to share.

7. User Content and Questions

You keep ownership of the original content you submit. You give Edge Healthtech a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce and use that content only as needed to operate, secure, support and improve the Service, comply with law and enforce these Terms.

Avoid including full names, home or school addresses, government identification numbers, passwords, private photographs or unnecessary information about another person.

8. AI and Automated Features

Some responses are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. They are produced automatically and may not reflect the view of a healthcare professional or Edge Healthtech. Users should check important information and seek human help where appropriate. Edge Healthtech may review automated systems, safety signals and feedback to improve quality.

9. Privacy

The EdgeBot Privacy Policy explains what information is collected and how it is used, stored, shared and protected. By using the Service, you acknowledge that information will be handled as described in that Policy.

10. Communications

Edge Healthtech may send account verification messages, security alerts, service notices and other communications needed to operate the Service. Optional reminders, newsletters, product updates or SMS messages will be sent according to user preferences and applicable consent requirements. Users may opt out of optional messages.

11. Free Service and Future Paid Features

EdgeBot is currently free. Edge Healthtech may introduce optional paid features in the future. Any price, billing period, renewal rule, refund term and additional condition will be shown before a user purchases a paid feature. Existing free features are not guaranteed to remain free forever.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, software, design, branding, graphics, databases and Edge Healthtech content are owned by or licensed to Edge Healthtech and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for lawful, non-commercial purposes.

13. Suspension and Account Closure

A user may stop using EdgeBot and request account deletion. Edge Healthtech may restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, investigate misuse, comply with law, address non-payment of a future paid feature or enforce these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to respond.

14. Service Availability and Changes

We may update, repair, replace, suspend or discontinue features. We aim to keep EdgeBot available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned and emergency maintenance, provider failures, security incidents or events outside our reasonable control may affect availability.

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis. Edge Healthtech does not guarantee that every response will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for every user.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Edge Healthtech will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the Service. Any limitation will be interpreted fairly, particularly where a user is a child or consumer.

16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, an adult user or organisation using the Service agrees to be responsible for losses caused by its unlawful misuse of EdgeBot or violation of another person's rights. This clause is not intended to impose an unfair obligation on a child.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before starting formal proceedings, the parties should first try in good faith to resolve a dispute by contacting support@edgehealthtech.org. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer, child-protection or data-protection right.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law or safety practices. We will publish the revised date and provide additional notice where a material change affects users. Continued use after the effective date means the updated Terms apply, except where fresh consent is legally required.

19. General Provisions

If one part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between the user and Edge Healthtech concerning the Service, subject to any additional terms shown for a specific feature.
